One of the many cost saving features Databasebuilder.com has built into our software is a purchase tracker that will flag a record that has been previously purchased. Users have the option to repurchase it if they choose to update the record.

When Local Presence is activated, it gives the user the ability to purchase a local phone number within a specified area code that will be used for outbound caller ID and inbound call tracking. Inbound calls can be routed back to the users account and voicemail. Users may purchase as many local area codes as they wish throughout the United States. Databasebuilder.com will automatically choose the proper local number to matches the outbound contact number being called.

When users build a list with Databasebuilder.com, you are given the ability to search and narrow down your search criteria to a more manageable list size. This step is very important to speed up search process and efficiency by pulling only a limited amount of data from the master database. This data is then displayed in a grid format for users to review and modify as needed. At this point, users only have access to the limited data that is displayed however users are not charged for this data transfer. It is only when the user selects a data record(s) and adds it to their CRM database or downloads it to their PC, will all the data fields available be transferred and then purchased.

In many cases, not all data fields are available from data providers. Generally, this pertains to more specific data fields within a data record such as email address, website URL, and social media addresses. Such data is difficult (not impossible) to accurately obtain from public sources. If specific data is available, it will be provided. Databasebuilder.com also provides advanced filtering tools to help users search for records containing only the specific data fields they desire.

Data

All data providers use a combination of gathering techniques. Most data providers purchase or obtain information from several sources such as government agencies, utility companies, private businesses, and trade organizations willing to sell it. Other data might come from public record. There are literally hundreds of sources that data providers use to gather their information.

The short answer is, fairly accurate. This might surprise some of you but the longer answer is, it all depends on your definition of accurate. The industry standard that is advertised for data accuracy is around 92-96%. It’s difficult to know what that really means. In our experience with data providers, 92-96% generally refers to basic data fields such as name, address, and phone number. However, accuracy rates are much lower when you combined more specific information such as email addresses, job titles, purchasing estimates, and household income. It is difficult to rely on accuracy ratings because there are many data fields that make up a data record. For this reasons, Databasebuilder.com does not compile or manger any of the data we provide or sell. Rather, we choose to use 3rd party data providers because it is simply what they do best.

Some are but it is becoming a thing of the past. In the old days, call centers were the main source of gathering and updating information. However, due to the abundance of public information and the time it takes to gather it, it is simply too costly and difficult to obtain for most data providers.

Sure, there are many. Some of the best sources are trade organizations and Chamber of Commerce websites. This information is generally more accurate and specific to the area or trade industry you are trying to target. Members often have access to membership lists and directories. Internet search engines like Google, Bing, and Safari are also excellent sources of free data. The major drawback to internet searches is that users are generally limited to search criteria and the amount of data they can view at one time.

Generally not but it also depends on the provider. Some information might come from utility companies or public record which is as close to verified as you might get without a call center. Other databases are built based on assumptions using statistical information. For example, a married couples of a certain age range is likely to having 1-2 children. Another assumption might be a companies with 100 employees is likely have average an annual sales revenue of $xxx dollars a year or they might spend $xxx dollars on rent or office equipment. It doesn’t seem likely that data providers can actually verify all of this information for each person or business. It would take years to gather that much data.

It is all a question of how often data providers update their database. Most data providers will not give out that information and not in their best interest to release it. The fact of the matter is, data changes by the second. Take COVID19 for example. Think about how many businesses closed their doors over overnight. There’s simply no way to update that much information in such a short period of time. Disconnects have long been an obstacle with telemarking lists but it should not exceed more than 8% in a given area.

Data purchases should be taken with a grain of salt. The more granular you get with your data, the less accurate it becomes. The best advice is to use a combination of purchased lead lists, solid database management, and common sense. Ask yourself if it is possible for a data provider to have access to such specific information or ask yourself, is that information publicly available? If the answer is no, it may not be worth paying a premium for it.

Any list you buy is a start and a good foundation to build a better database but it’s not maintenance free. As we said earlier, data changes by the second, people move/relocate, businesses open/close, and employees switch positions/change companies. It is impossible to stay on top of so much information in a timely manner. So unless you can confirm the accuracy of the data you are buying, it’s best not to pay a premium for it. Any salesperson worth their weight has the ability to get past gatekeepers and collect valuable information like email addresses, identifying the decision maker, purchasing agent, and heads of households.

Having an organized, easy to use lead management system like Databasebuilder.com is a good first step.

Sales

One of the most overlooked places to prospect for new business is right under your nose. Too many organizations simply ignore their own data. Don’t let your sales database sit dormant, it can be a goldmine. Re-assign sales prospects when a sales rep leaves your organization or moves on to another position. Even a bad salesperson has a pipeline of prospective customers. Databasebuilder.com will help build this pipelines that have been started by your sales team.

Give me a good a good salesperson any day of the week and twice on Sundays. A good salesperson will crush a good lead list. A bad salesperson is a waste of good leads.

Policies

We see no reason to sign one. If you like our product, we want you to use it as long as you wish. When you need a break, there are no contracts or long-term commitments to worry about. Pay as you go, Databasebuilder.com charges monthly for its services.

We do have access to your data but, we do not use it unless you give us permission to do so. We do share “contact” data with our data providers such as disconnected phone numbers or returned addresses to improve and update our products. We do not sell or share any of our customer’s information or data with any 3rd party or related companies.

Disconnected phone numbers have long been an issue with all data providers. There simply is no efficient way to keep track of disconnects in a timely manner. Our policy for disconnects is essentially an honor system for a lack of a better word. We assign each user a monthly allotment of lead and dialer credits to offset disconnected phone numbers. When a user runs into disconnected phone number and selects the “disconnected” status from the contact manager dashboard, a lead and dialer credit will be issued back immediately. These credits can easily be tracked from the lead and dialer counter that is displayed on the CRM dashboard. Credits are given for calls less than 30 seconds and all disconnected phone numbers will be removed from the user’s database. This information may be shared with our data providers to improve accuracy.
